the clock is ticking down. we re in the second half of the fourth quarter and you know congress really needs to make this a priority. the biden white house needs to make it a priority. before i have to let you go, how reliable are this data. the mayor of detroit says it was down as much as 10%. he is planning legal action. you know the trump administration tried to influence the way people count the immigration status. do we consider these results to be reliable again this year before we go? the census officials say as reliable as we get. they are proud of these numbers. we know that citizenship question definitely scared a lot of hispanic recruiters away from filling out the census forms. at the end of the day, this is the only count, we get this decade. so. that s what we got. we ll have to go with who we got then, hope we don t end up in the fyre festival of census counts.
it s this underground tunnel, and according to windsor police who we ve talked to on this show, they say this is all because of a bomb threat that was called in right around 12:30 local time. and so this tunnel has been evacuated. and this tunnel, there are 27 to 29,000 cars and trucks that use this artery each and every day. so this is a tremendous, tremendous deal. and we know that there are bomb teams in and around this tunnel, trying to find out if, in fact, this is, in fact, a bomb. i want to bring in lauren laughlin. she s with the coast guard public affairs. she joins me on the phone. and lauren, bring me up to speed, what do you know now as far as this bomb threat is concerned? as far as what s happening in the tunnel, i cannot speculate about. i know that the detroit bbp is taking care of that. as far as the coast guard s role in it, right now the coast guard has boats on the water that are deferring marine traffic to and from the areas of the tunnel for safety.
all right. are you still flying? any more horror stories from you? i have to fly. okay. i ve had a number of experiences since the original one. you know, i think that there s a solution here that will make the airlines a lot of money and win their best customers back. my family was one of the airlines best customers. we travel a lot. and our experience obviously changed my life. and for many, many people who have been stuck, they don t want to get on a plane again. and so, i think it really behooves the airlines to stop posturing, stop threatening us with flight cancellations, and look at what proactive strategies are to prevent this from happening. all right. you continue flying. hope you don t have any more horror stories. hope we don t get stuck on a plane together at some point. i ve been there too. kate hanini in california, thank you so much. we ll follow up with you to see what happened in the senate. thanks for being here this morning. and if people need an update
