New hospital gym built thanks to Captain Tom s fundraising efforts

YOUNG people at mental health unit in Bury will benefit from a new outdoor gym thanks to funding from NHS Charities Together. The gym is part of Hope Unit, run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, which supports 13-18 year olds with a range of mental health difficulties. Hope Unit, along with Horizon Unit, is an inpatient child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) based on the Fairfield General Hospital site. The new area is made up of five pieces of equipment, fitted into a newly landscaped garden at the back of the unit. Young people will be able to use the facilities for regular outdoor exercise which will also help improve their mental health.
