The UAE’s Hope Probe is ready to transition into the science orbit, the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) has confirmed.
The announcement came following the completion of the probe’s commissioning and testing phase. The completion of testing is ahead of schedule and the transition to science manoeuvres will take place earlier than planned.

The UAE space mission paid tribute to the US space agency after it successfully reached the Red Planet.
As Nasa s Perseverance Rover made a successful Mars landing ahead of schedule early Friday morning, the UAE s Hope Probe was one of the first to tweet its congratulations.

Arab world’s first mission to Mars achieves orbit
The Arab world’s history-making first interplanetary mission to Mars – the United Arab Emirates Hope Probe – successfully achieved orbit today, Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 10:57 a.m. ET (19:57 UAE time, 1557 GMT),” after a seven-month journey bound for the Red Planet and designed to study the planet’s weather and climate, and inspire the nations young people to study science.
Hope is the first of three missions reaching the Red Planet this month. The UAE thus commences Earth’s powerful Invasion of Mars in 2021 with an international fleet of orbiters, landers, and rovers launched from the UAE, the United States and China.

UAE’S Mars mission, named AMAL the Hope probe, reached Mars’ orbit at 7:42 p.m. Tuesday local time and sent a signal back to Earth. This makes the UAE the first Arab country and the fifth globally to reach the red planet. It took it 204 days and more than 480 million to get there .Experts estimated the chance of successfully entering Mars’ orbit at about 50%, since more than half of all Mars missions actually fail. The crucial time window was a terrifying and suspenseful 27 minutes during which the Hope probe had to dramatically slow down from its speed of 100,000 kilometers per hour (62,137 mph) to 18,000 kph by firing its six thrusters for 27 minutes exactly.
