Carl Avery, a Hoopa resident who also recently painted the overpass on Eureka’s southern gateway, spent roughly two weeks – but with weather delays, two months – painting the sprawling mural depicting tribal history and cultural practices with the blessings of the painter of the previous mural in 1989, Deborah McConnell.
