These days, the “Fast & Furious” franchise is more into rockets, just like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Richard Branson. But in the beginning, parts were hauled around in “mundane” trucks such as the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning.

It raced all sorts of cars already, from crazy Wankel builds to drag racing classics such as the Nissan GT-R albeit under an Altima skin and it always came out on top. Surely, it s not going to lose its first race to an SUV, will it?
Well, considering the way the STI is built, it really shouldn t. That car has custom everything, from the carbon fiber body to the non-existent interior, and its engine bay is a wonderful feat of design and engineering. The coolest part, however, is its rear wing. Not only is it massive, but it literally works like the flaps on an airplane while the car is airborne, helping Travis Pastrana bring the rear down with pinpoint precision.
The folks over at Hoonigan are quite the busy bees nowadays, running all sorts of projects and showcasing some spectacular builds. Back in 2020, they also decided to put together a donk. Almost one year later and the beefed-up 1971 Chevy Caprice is almost ready. Needless to say, it's a wild one with more than 800 horsepower on tap.

We have seen all sorts of exciting encounters via Hoonigan’s “This vs That” series on YouTube, and just because this time we’re dealing with an oldie and a stock 2021 model, it doesn’t mean things won’t get feisty. After all, the vintage model is a 1986 Toyota AE86 that doesn’t feature your average Honda swap when it goes head-to-head with a 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition for some drag racing fun. 41 photos
The FK8 iteration of the Civic Type R (part of the tenth-generation series) clearly builds on the company’s heritage of developing great hot hatchbacks that are fun to drive, affordable enough to keep the bank from stamping it with the foreclosure notice, and ready to give hell to just about anyone brave enough to challenge it.

There sure is a lot of hype surrounding the Ram TRX. You get to see it being raced, tested, and reviewed almost daily now, not that I have something against that. It s a cool truck, and my only complaint is that I haven t managed to drive one so far. But I m happy to see it at the drag strip once again. 17 photos
The This versus that mini-series developed by the guys at Hoonigan is back with a new episode, and this time they re dealing with two machines that would probably feel more at home on the off-road. They re still at the Santa Margarita Ranch, and guessing the outcome of this challenge might be a bit tricky.
