DENVER The Colorado Rockies today announced Bobbie Foote will represent the Rockies in support of the annual “Honorary Bat Girl” initiative, an effort commemorated each Mother’s Day to highlight extraordinary efforts to support the fight against breast cancer. Bobbie, who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to this cause, will be recognized at Coors Field on Sunday, May 16th.
Bobbie grew up in a military family, before serving 20 years in the Navy as a shipboard firefighter herself. She completed five deployments to the Persian Gulf during her service time. She retired from the service in 2013 and three years later, learned of her breast cancer diagnosis.
