Some veterans will be taking a trip to Washington, D.C. next week, thanks to the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana. According to the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana's website, the Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Officials say Honor Flight of Southern Indiana is the 133rd Honor Flight Network hub and serves the Indiana counties of Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick. Officials say they transport the veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials.
