Dec. 9 (UPI) The Trump administration on Wednesday sanctioned a member of the Chinese Communist Party it accuses of using Beijing s multination infrastructure project to hide the expansion of and crimes committed by one of the world s largest Chinese criminal organizations.
Wan Kuok Koi, also known by the alias Broken Tooth, was sanctioned by the Treasury on Wednesday under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act that targets perpetrators of corruption and serious human rights abuse.

YANGON The US has blacklisted a major Chinese criminal figure and Communist Party of China (CCP) member who is also a key investor in a so-called “industrial zone” and gambling hub in Karen State’s Myawaddy, near the Thai border.
On Wednesday, the US Department of the Treasury said it had added Wan Kuok Koi, commonly known as “Broken Tooth”, to its sanctioned list of “corrupt actors”. Wan is known as the leader of the 14K Triad, a group notorious for engaging in drug trafficking, illegal gambling, racketeering, human trafficking and a range of other criminal activities

Chinese organised crime leader alleged of expanding criminal activities throughout Southeast Asia
The US Treasury slapped sanctions Wednesday on a notorious Chinese organized crime leader known as Broken Tooth , alleging he is expanding criminal activities throughout Southeast Asia on the back of a major Beijing infrastructure initiative.
Wan Kuok-koi, the head of the powerful 14K triad, or organized crime group, has built operations in Cambodia, Myanmar and Palau since being released from Macau prison eight years ago, the Treasury said.
