Faithful Friends Animal Society is offering free spay and neuter operations and rabies vaccinations for 175 pets in targeted areas of New Castle County.
Faithful Friends, a nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Wilmington, received a grant for the program from the Delaware Office of Animal Welfare s license plate fund. The fund s revenue comes from sales of animal friendly Delaware license plates.
For pets to qualify for a free spay or neuter, they must be a cat or a large-breed dog. Colony cats are also eligible. Large-breed dogs are defined as those that weigh or will weigh 50 pounds or more as an adult.
Once again, Jennifer Behm-Lazzarini is wearing a crown.
The former Miss Delaware USA bested chef Bobby Flay in a cooking competition Thursday night on his Food Network TV show Beat Bobby Flay.
Behm-Lazzarini faced off against Flay on the half-four program after winning a first-round battle against her husband, Julio Lazzarini, who owned and ran two Wilmington restaurants. The couple moved to Rhode Island about seven years ago. I m totally numb and in shock, said the mother of two girls after the win. The Lazzarinis took out Bobby Flay. Mommy s bringin home the crown.
In a surprise move, Behm-Lazzarini, who never went to culinary school but once owned a catering business in Delaware, chose to make chicken noodle soup.
