RoadSync is Hondaâs app that connects a smartphone to a bikeâs voice control system. Initially, only bikes with a digital instrument cluster or MID are expected to get Bluetooth connectivity.
Honda has filed an application for a trademark for the name Honda RoadSync in India. RoadSync is Hondaâs app that connects a smartphone to a bikeâs voice control system. The move to apply for the trademark has led to speculation that the company could be planning to introduce Bluetooth connectivity in its bikes in India. The status of the application reads âacceptedâ.
At present, the voice control system with Bluetooth connectivity is available on the Honda H Ness CB 350. Some of the features offered by RoadSync include navigation, phone calls, incoming messages, music playback, weather information & volume adjustments. Riders can toggle through the information using buttons on the left side of the handlebar, which changes their functions according to the feature
A much needed update for Hondaâs lauded commuters
Honda has filed a new trademark in India under the name “Honda RoadSync”. It applies to two-wheelers and their fittings, meaning it’s probably another one of Honda’s crucial updates.
What Could It Be?
In its international offerings like the X-ADV, the CB1000R, and the Forza 750, the RoadSync is Honda’s app that works in conjunction with its voice control system. It is offered as standard on the aforementioned offerings and as an accessory on the Forza 350. This system is also present on the H’Ness CB350 but requires an additional headset.
4 out of 5 (4/5)
Under the 2021 Honda X-ADV’s bodywork lurks an all-new chassis that helps trim 1kg off the bike’s wet weight while also increasing (marginally) the underseat storage. The geometry is unchanged and so is the X-ADV’s wheelbase, so it handles like the old bike and the 3kg total saving over the outgoing version is negligible.
On the road the X-ADV is surprisingly agile and sure-footed in bends (helped by its fat tyres) and its radial brakes deliver more than enough bite. Off-road? Well, don’t let its looks deceive you, that’s not really its speciality.
With a seat height of 820mm it isn’t too much of a stretch to the floor but the 2021 model’s new seat is slimmer to help reduce this a bit. The screen is adjustable in its height and offers a reasonable amount of shelter and you get brush guards as standard to keep your hands protected.
