Crash involving a car pulled over on North Mopac leaves 1 dead By Cory Dinkel AUSTIN, Texas - A man was killed on North Mopac when another driver struck him while he was making repairs to his vehicle on the shoulder. APD says a preliminary investigation shows a 2005 Nissan Quest was pulled over onto the west shoulder of the 1700 block of North Mopac southbound. The driver exited the vehicle and was lying underneath the car trying to repair it. A 2016 Kia Soul was traveling southbound in the outside lane when it struck the driver s side of the Nissan Quest.  The driver of the Nissan Quest was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Pedestrian dies from injuries suffered in Airport Blvd crash By FOX 7 Austin Digital Team Published  AUSTIN, Texas - Police have identified the person who has died after injuries he suffered in an auto-pedestrian crash on January 9 in East Austin. The Austin Police Department says 21-year-old Connor Avery Hughes attempted to cross midblock in the 4000 block of Airport Boulevard on January 9 at around 9:21 p.m. when he was hit by the driver of a blue, 2012 Chevrolet Cruze that was traveling northbound. Hughes was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where he died on January 11. Officials say the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment. They say it does not appear excessive speed was a factor and that no charges are expected.

1 person killed, 1 injured after crash in Northwest Austin By FOX 7 Austin Digital Team Published  AUSTIN, Texas - A woman is dead and a man hospitalized after a crash in Northwest Austin. The crash happened in the 3900 block of West Howard Lane at around 11:40 p.m. on January 13. The Austin Police Department says 28-year-old Jasmine Symon Campos was driving a grey, 2019 Nissan Sentra westbound on Howard Lane when she crashed into an eastbound white, 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. Campos was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Marquis was taken to St. David s Round Rock Medical Center with serious injuries. Officials say the driver is currently in stable condition.
