More than 50 Iowa nursing homes have experienced a COVID-19 outbreak since the vaccine roll-out in December, and the home with the highest number of outbreaks is run by the state itself.
Three more coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in regional counties since this time yesterday (Tuesday). There has been one additional death in each of Carroll, Guthrie and Sac Counties. Carroll County’s death toll rises to 33 with 2,509 positive cases-up by 12 since 6 a.m. Tuesday 2,194 recovered and a 16.4 percent positivity rate. Guthrie County has a total of 24 deaths, a 13.7 percent positivity rate, up three cases to 1,011 with 856 recovered. And Sac County has 15 deaths reported and are up 11 to 1,093 positives, 985 recovered and a 9.8 percent positivity rate. Crawford County remains at number five in the state for two-week positivity rates, at 22.2 percent with 2,262 positives, that is up nine from yesterday, 1,971 recovered and 22 deaths. Greene County maintains the lowest positivity rate in the state at 6.9 percent, they were up five cases over the past 24 hours to 674 positives, 604 recovered and seven deaths.
