The sight of unsheltered individuals in Sacramento County is a common sight for anyone who lives in the area, and the latest census confirms there are even more people on the street.
More than 700 volunteers canvassed the greater Sacramento area, looking for people experiencing homelessness. The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is usually done every two years. With homelessness continuing to be a major issue in Sacramento, local leaders and nonprofit organizations said the canvassing efforts this time around are crucial.
