A 34-year-old Chino man was killed Tuesday night in a shooting in the 6500 block of Riverside Drive in Chino, police said.
The shooting is the third fatal shooting in the city this month, following incidents on the 60 Freeway in Chino on Dec. 3 and the double fatal incident in the 16200 block of Homecoming Drive on Dec. 11.
Richard Lazama died at an undisclosed hospital after the 7:54 p.m. shooting Tuesday, said City of Chino spokeswoman Vivian Castro.
âWhen officers arrived, they located several subjects on scene and an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,â the spokeswoman said. âThe male subject was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.â
The victimsâ names, ages and cities of residences have not been released.
âOne of the victims has been identified, but his name is not being released at this time. Detectives are actively working to identify the second victim,â police said in a statement.
Officers were called at 3:37 a.m. to the 16200 block of Homecoming Drive on a report of shots heard, and found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
âThe officers then received information from the Chino Valley Medical Center that an additional adult male victim arrived at the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound,â police reported. âUnfortunately, both male victims were later pronounced deceased.â
