Eye on the surf and the potential for flooding and following an accuweather alert for parts of our region as the impact of hurricane jose begins to peak. We have Live Team Coverage tracking the effects at the shore and we begin with cecily tynan with the latest from the National Weather center. Oncemighty Hurricane Harvey is weakening, and drifting slowly but dangerously over land. Forecasters warn the storm is still capable of generating catastrophic flooding as far as 100 miles inland. After making landfall overnight, harvey was downgraded today from a category 4 hurricane, with 130mileanhour winds, to Tropical Storm status still with very severe 75mileanhour winds. Harvey came ashore about 30 miles northeast of Corpus Christi, as the strongest hurricane to hit texas in almost 60 years. Harvey has already dumped 20 inches of rain in some places.
