Shovel hits the ground for a 10 million dollar build at Holy Rosary

The shovel is in the ground for the construction of the new wing at the Holy Rosary High School.
MLA’s Colleen Young, Garth Rowswell and Mayor Gerald Aalbers joined with the School’s community to bring greetings and lend a hand for the symbolic effort.
Five years of planning have culminated in the start of the new wing that will have 16 classrooms and is costing $10 million.
Local high schools tackle provincial skills contest

Lloydminster High schools are representing the area at the Alberta Skills contest.
The annual showcase challenges students to apply their learning to topics like Architectural technology, Mechanical CADD, Cosmetology and Communication mediums.
Alan Griffith who is the Schools Based Coordinator at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School, spoke to the extra challenges faced to prepare their 10 students.
“We’ve been restricted some what, in regards to the amount extra-curricular we can do with students in person. So we have had to be creative and find ways to continue to prepare students within the classroom as well.”
Another COVID-19 case found at Holy Rosary, one class to move online for Thursday

The Lloydminster Catholic School Division has confirmed a new positive COVID case at Holy Rosary, and as such a class will go online tomorrow.
The case was found in an individual in the Grade 8 Group A class at Holy Rosary High School.
As a precaution, the school division says, Public Health is requiring all Grade 8 students in Group A who attended school on December 11th, to isolate until tomorrow, December 17th, at 6pm.
