Adormirea Maicii Domnului este cinstită, în fiecare an, pe data de 25 iulie. Sfânta Ana provenea din neamul lui Aaron; a fost fiica Mariei și a preotului Natan. Aceștia au trăit în timpul reginei Cleopatra a Egiptului (69-30 î.Hr.), potrivit Calendarului Ortodox.
