you have, homophobic, raunchy. how is that perceived as funny? help me understand how that helps to boost morale? how it helps boost morale? yes. like i said, in the navy, navy humor is a lot different from regular humor in the civilian worlds. it s a lot more of an adult humor. everybody understands, they laugh, and they don t really think anything of it. for example, you know, the shower scene that everybody is talking about, people perceived that as to be a little raunchy and maybe it was. but the whole idea behind that, it was supposed to be a spoof, for example are you referencing the two women in the shower? yes, the two women in the shower. when that video was made, we were in the middle of the merti persian gulf and going through water rationing. all water we take in to drink and use to cook, that we use for everything has to be processed
and has to be sterilized before we can use it. and when you have a crew of upwards of 6,000 people on the ship, you know, that water goes by very fast because you only have a limited supply before you have to make more. so the running joke was, okay, you can only take a three-minute shower instead of maybe a 20 or 30 minute hollywood shower. that s all that was. it was just a spoof on the water rationing that went around. so connect the dots, though, for me. if it s a spoof on telling people only take a three-minute shower, how do you get from taking a three-minute shower to throwing a couple of ladies in a shower and then quietly closing the shower curtain? i didn t make the movie so i honestly don t know how that went about. but let me just follow up with this. and this is something this is part of a conversation i had yesterday. just for people who aren t in the navy and aren t familiar with what you do and life on board these carriers for months and months at a time, are
