Lubbock man charged in 15-year-old Llano County cold case AGN Media AUSTIN – The former landlord of a Llano County woman who went missing in 2006 is now charged in her death. On May, 3, Jimmy Wolfenbarger, 57, of Lubbock, was indicted in Llano County on one count of murder in the November 2006 death of Holly Simmons, 46, of Buchanan Dam, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Simmons was reported missing by her 17-year-old daughter on Nov. 28, 2006, after she dropped her off at the school bus stop the previous morning. Simmons was never seen alive again. For years, investigators with the Llano County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers worked this case, trying to bring closure. Immediately following Simmons’ disappearance, her house on Cortez Trail was thoroughly examined for evidence. Neighbors, coworkers and associates were also interviewed by investigators, the release states.

He was released after posting a $2 million bond. Llano County Sheriff’s Office officials say 57-year-old Jimmy Don Wolfenbarger, formerly of Buchanan Dam, was indicted by a Llano County Grand Jury for the murder of 45-year-old Holly Marie Simmons. Her body was found at the bottom of Inks Lake in July 2009.

KAMC News reports that Wolfenbarger, who formerly lived in the Buchanan Dam community in Llano County but now lives in Lubbock, had been indicted for the murder of Holly Simmons that happened in Llano County back in 2006. Back on July 7th, 2009, the Llano County Sheriff s Office, Texas Rangers and LCRA Law Enforcement were called to reports of human remains found in Inks Lake The remains were recovered and transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner s office. At that time, the identity of the remains wasn t known. It wasn t until 2 months later on September 1st, 2009 that the remains were identified as those of Holly Marie Simmons, who would have been 48-years-old at the time her remains were discovered.
