Predictably, the Del Mar Union School District’s Board of Trustees voted at the March 15 board meeting to appoint someone to fill the board seat vacated Feb. 16 by Scott Wooden, rather than hold a special election.
On March 6, San Diego Superior Court Judge Katherine Bacal ruled to dissolve the injunction that halted construction on the Del Mar Heights School rebuild project, finding that all issues regarding the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) challenges have been "fully and finally" resolved.
The Del Mar Union School District, as of this writing, has yet to decide how to fill the school board seat just vacated by Scott Wooden, who resigned Feb. 16 after being arrested for soliciting prostitution on Feb. 11 in a sting operation in Florida.
As the Del Mar Union School District begins work on its new five-year strategic plan, they hope to engage the community in developing a "Portrait of a Learner", a collective vision that articulates the community’s aspirations for every student in the district.
