Apr 6, 2021 April is Parkinson’s Awareness month, and to raise awareness of Parkinson’s in women, a Ladies Blingo Bingo is planned for Saturday, April 17, at Pinks Bar and Grill in Ruthville. The event runs from 3 to 6 p.m. with prizes provided courtesy of the generosity of area businesses. Tickets are $30 and include three rounds of bingo, a signature comp drink, a dessert bar, photo ops and some vendors for shopping. There will be $2 raffle tickets available for purchase. The bingo will include a black-out round with a $400 prize package. The $5 bingo card will be available at the registration table.

Mistrust in ambulance services NEW RICHLAND Editor An apparent power struggle among city leaders and administrators seems to be leading to controversy and inefficiency in the New Richland ambulance service, which, over the past several months, has led to a failed state inspection, an audit, an internal investigation and the termination and demotion of the two most senior members of the ambulance department. The upheaval appears to be damaging the service’s ability to respond to emergency calls. Over the course of the past two months, five out of roughly 40 requests for assistance have reportedly not been responded to. When the New Richland ambulance fails to respond to a call, the Waseca ambulance department is forced to respond.
