School changes due to COVID in 2020

 The changes began in March. March  On March 11, local school districts announced limited after-school activities and shortened their days. They were preparing to implement a remote teaching plan. Around this time, the U.S. had about 1,000 COVID-19 cases and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was discouraging large gatherings for the time being.  On March 12, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced all Michigan K-12 school districts will be closed in-person from Monday, March 16 through Sunday, April 5. At its March 18 meeting, the Linden Board of Education decided to move the vote on the $55-million bond proposal from the May 5 election to the Aug. 4 election due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Voters ultimately approved the bond in November.
