Early bird movements, early popping of flowers, early move north by coho, early night crawlers and early ticks along with a historic lack of ice are part of whacked-out winter.

Barn Owls Webinar

  Barn owls are endangered in Illinois. Most barn owl nesting has been reported in the southern half of the state. With a recovery plan, Kankakee County can see barn owl numbers increase. Learn how we can help this endangered bird. University of Illinois Extension, Kankakee County and the Kankakee River Valley Forest Preserve District are hosting the program with Stewardship Coordinator, Terry Esker of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  Pre-registration is required by February 25.
