A FORMER contestant on The Circle is dreaming of working abroad now the show is over. Life is back to the classroom for 29-year-old Shabaz Ali from Blackburn, who spent time on popular Channel 4 show The Circle last winter. Currently supplying at Stonyhurst College, the 29-year-old played a teacher called Alice on the show, which sees contestants choose to play as themselves or a catfish, playing games and rating each other to win. Mr Ali managed to get all the way to the semi-finals but watched the finals from the side-lines as Natalya Platanova aka Felix won. But now, the teacher is dreaming of life abroad teaching Science at British Schools in different countries.

Neil Hart, Liz Sedgley, Zulfi Khan and Julie Turner have been appointed to the board at Nelson and Colne College, and will join others drawn from a variety of industries and backgrounds, as well as staff and student governors. As Chief Executive Officer of Burnley Football Club, Neil Hart is the senior leader responsible for the Premier League club’s finances, supporter engagement, commercial opportunities, staff and facilities, and helped develop a strong and close partnership between Burley Football in the Community and the college.
POLICE are investigating a report that a 14-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted abduction as she walked home from school. Officers are looking into a report of suspicious activity where a child reported being approached by a group of men in a car. The incident happened at about 4pm on Atlas Street in Clayton-le-Moors when a girl said she had been approached by the men. The girl ran off and later reported the incident. A spokesperson for the police said: We understand that people are going to be alarmed and concerned and we would like to reassure people that we take all reports like this seriously and it is being thoroughly investigated.
