Northern Health Region adds 104 cases over weekend, more school exposures

BC CDC COVID-19 dashboard for April 26th. (BC CDC) VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 104 new cases over the weekend, including 49 from Sunday to Monday. The active case count has moved to 263. There are 18 people in hospital, 6 of whom are in critical care. There were three COVID-19 related deaths recorded over the weekend, bringing the total to 140. ),whenLoaded(initFlexitive); Provincial COVID-19 data The province added 2,491 new cases over the weekend. From Friday to Saturday there were 881, 847 from Saturday to Sunday, and 763 from Sunday to Monday. There are now 8,199 active cases in the province. Out of 484 people in hospital, 158 are in critical care.

B C sees seven additional Coronavirus deaths, 18 new variant of concern cases

British Columbia s COVID-19 numbers have once again risen. In a written statement this afternoon (March 3), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said 542 cases of the virus were detected during the past 24 hours, bringing the grand total to 75,819.  Of the new cases, Northern Health recorded 44, bringing the authority total to 4,686 since the virus hit the region on March 14, 2020. Officials announced seven more deaths linked to the virus today, bringing the province s toll to 1,372. There are 4,654 active cases throughout B.C. with 246 people currently hospitalized, 64 of which are in ICU or critical care. Dr. Henry revealed there have been 18 new variants of concern cases, bringing the provincial total to 200, with 11 active.
