The Haridwar Kumbh on the banks of river Ganga in Uttarakhand will take place from April 1 to April 30 with three Shahi Snan (Holi Dip) to take place on April 12, 14, and 27. Kumbh is held periodically at four different locations in India (Nashik, Haridwar, Prayagraj, and Ujjain) every four years.

The Union Ministry of Finance has sanctioned Rs 325 crore to the Uttarakhand government for Kumbh Mela 2021, which kickstarts on Thursday (April 1).
As per a statement from Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat s office, an amount of Rs 80 crore has also been sanctioned for the restructuring of the water supply scheme of Mussoorie city.
