other members of the house came to tour this facility. we did the same. i went inside and i ll be frank with you. it is a de facto prison. it is a holder area. it is a pen. you have the 12-foot change linked pens holding families. if it is a father, it is a large pen. there are 600 unaccompanied minors held in the facility. that number changes all the time. they are moving people in and out. this is a processing facility. they are supposed to be here for 72 hours. some of the people i talked to in here, they were here for four or five days. thats does vary. when i talked to border patrol, they said the zero tolerance policy is requiring more paper work because of prosecution. things we were not doing before. there is more paper work.
