HICKSVILLE â A sewer/water line project on this townâs west side is causing some traffic concerns for village officials.
The chokepoint is on West High Street (Ohio 2) approaching the west village limits where Hohenbrink Excavating, Findlay, is replacing a water line and installing a new storm sewer.
The street is closed to through traffic from the east at Antwerp Drive (Ohio 49) and from the west at Chicago Avenue.
The trenches are very, very deep and one lane is totally ripped out,â explained Hicksville Village Administrator Kent Miller. âThereâs no way we can maintain traffic.â
While trucks from the east can detour onto Antwerp Drive (because itâs a state route), the truck detour for traffic coming into Hicksville from the west is Indiana 101, six miles southwest of the village, which connects to U.S. 24.

OTTAWA On Monday, members of the Ottawa Village Council paved the way for a
new, partially alcohol-fueled mode of transportation: the Pedal Bar.
More
commonly seen in metropolitan areas, pedal bars also known as trolley
bar bikes, party bikes, pedal crawlers, pedal pubs, beer bikes, or bar
bikes offer participants the opportunity to drink beer or wine while
pedaling or not; most have auxiliary motors about town with friends.
The
issue came before council several weeks ago when an Ottawa resident,
Andrew Beaston, approached the village about putting such a commercial
quadricycle in service in the village.
