Shogi prodigy Sota Fujii won the prestigious Meijin championship on June 1, making him only the second player in the Japanese board game's history to hold seven major titles simultaneously after Yoshiharu Habu.
Twenty-year-old Sota Fujii becomes only the second player in the history of the shogi board game to hold six major titles as he takes the Kio crown from Akira Watanabe.
