It happened east of the dutton avenue ramp and the tree narrowly missed. Caltrans and the Fire Department managed to cut the tree up and haul it away in about an hour. Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains is back open tonight after a tree fell, shutting down all lanes of traffic.
