BACOLOD CITY - The management of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here is mourning the death of a coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patient who ended his own life on Monday. The 68-year-old male patient, who was admitted early morning on January 21, was believed to have jumped to his death from his room on the fifth floor of the West Tower at around noon. In a statement on Tuesday, Dr. Julius Drilon, Medical Center Chief II, said "the entire hospital is saddened" over the incident. "Regardless of how heartbreaking the situation is, the CLMMRH deemed it necessary to inform the public of the suicide incident that happened in the hospital grounds yesterday, January 24," he added. Drilon said "the situation is very saddening" amid the pandemic and asked for prayers for its patients and health workers for them to overcome the physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion brought by Covid-19.
