The National Prosecuting Authority in Gauteng says it stands by its decision to bring the case involving eight VIP protection officers before the court.
The eight suspended police officers attached to the presidential protection unit were granted bail of R10 000 each in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Action Society’s Ian Cameron has described the court decision to grant eight police officers, who are accused of assaulting motorists in Johannesburg, bail as “shocking”.
