WHL Roundup: Matthew Seminoff, Caedan Bankier lead Blazers over Cougars

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Matthew Seminoff struck twice and Caedan Bankier had a goal and two assists as the Kamloops Blazers downed the Prince George Cougars 6-1 on Thursday in Western Hockey League play.
Mats Lindgren, Tye Spencer and Connor Zary also scored for the Blazers (3-0-0), who got a 25-save outing from Dylan Garand.
Jack Sander found the back of the net to keep the Cougars (1-2-0) from being blanked.
Prince George netminder Taylor Gauthier made 36 saves, but was left out to dry in a second period that saw him give up four goals on 20 shots.
Kelowna Rockets have activities suspended due to six positive COVID-19 results

The Western Hockey League announced Wednesday the Kelowna Rockets have had all activities suspended for a minimum of 14 days following six additional positive COVID-19 tests, taking the total to seven within the club after a positive test one day earlier.
The WHL says the positive COVID-19 test results belong to two staff members and four players.
In accordance with the WHL s return-to-play protocol, the Rockets have immediately isolated and are being tested, and anyone with close contact has been instructed to self-quarantine and monitor symptoms for 14 days.

RED DEER, Alta. - Josh Tarzwell scored twice as the Red Deer Rebels defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-1 Sunday night in Red Deer.
Both teams combined for four goals as the Rebels took a 3-1 lead into the third period. The Rebels would finish off the Hurricanes with two more goals in the third and final frame of play.
Ben King, Arshdeep Bains, and Jace Isley also scored for the Rebels (1-3-2-0).
Logan Barlage scored the only goal for the Hurricanes (2-2-0-0). -
BLADES 6 PATS 3
REGINA Blake Stevenson scored two goals and added two assists in a 6-3 Saskatoon Blades win over the Regina Pats Sunday. Carson Denomie scored two goals and added an assist in the loss.
WHL Roundup: Tate Popple scores his second goal in OT, Warriors edge Wheat Kings

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Tate Popple scored his second goal of the game 1:07 into overtime and the Moose Jaw Warriors opened their Western Hockey League season with a 4-3 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday.
Cade Hayes and Eric Alarie also scored while Boston Bilious made 19 saves for the Warriors (1-0-0).
Ben McCartney, Jake Chiasson and Braden Scheider supplied the offence for the Wheat Kings (0-0-1).
Ethan Kruger stopped 27-of-31 shots for Brandon. -
RAIDERS 6 PATS 3
REGINA Ozzy Wiesblatt scored once and set up two more and Max Paddock made 28 saves against his former team as the Raiders (1-0-0) doubled up the Pats (0-1-0) in the first game of the season for both squads.
