unfortunately. he s seemed to see this as a reason to go back to extreme vetting. this is somebody who radicalized within the united states and once here lawfully. it s a lahard problem and a different type of problem. the rhetoric that divides us and can lead to divisive conversations on religious lines, that s the kind of things terrorists want to attack. and president trump said the u.s. military is hitting isis ten times harder. but record don t support the claims. does this concern you? i m all for hitting isis pretty hard, but i m also all for appropriate transparency about what we re doing. so it is hard to square those comments with, as you say, the information that gets provided about the coalition activity in

rebuild our badly depleted military. we ve just fired 59 missiles all of which hit, by the way, unbelievable, from hundreds of miles away. it s so incredible. it s brilliant. it s genius. our technology, our equipment is better than anybody by a factor of five. i mean, what we have in terms of technology, nobody can even come close to competing. now, we re going to start getting it because, you know, the military has been cutback and depleted so badly by the past administration. we are so proud of our military. if you look at what s happened over the last eight weeks and compare that to really what s happened over the last eight years, you ll see there is a tremendous difference, tremendous difference. so, we have incredible leaders in the military and we have incredible military, and we are very proud of them. and this was another very, very successful mission. on the topic of hitting isis, candidate donald trump was consistent with the size of the
major reaction because there was nothing that president obama said here that deviated from what we ve heard him say many times before. he essentially reiterated the u.s. current strategy for dealing with isis. he talked about continuing bombardment, growing that coalition, hitting isis revenue streams, putting pressure on turkey to seal that border. he talked, again, about sending that small group of special forces onto the ground inside syria to carry out specifically targeted raids, but he did say once again there would be no boots on the ground. certainly what he didn t get into as much is how these developments, how these steps or this strategy are going to be implemented in a way that can also have an effect on these sort of homegrown lone wolf attacks. just last night in the uk, wolf, here in london a man on the tube or the subway stabbed another man in the throat. he shouted allegedly, you know, this is for syria. and there s a growing acceptance
coalition against the terror group has been dealt a major blow following thing down of that russian fighter jet by nato ally turkey. let s talk about this with barbara starr along with joliet. barbara, what are we expecting from the discussion between these to men? all indications are the french president will go to moscow to have this meeting to, perhaps, shall we say, represent the view of the nato alliance, his country and the united states and great britain. they want russia to stop attacking the rebels who oppose bashar al assad, the syrian president, and focus, truly, on hitting isis. those behind the attacks in france, that organization. whether russia really will shift its strategy is very much an open question because right now the russians are very focused on
