top ranking democrats. all this is republicans remain focused on getting judge kavanaugh s nomination to a vote and doing it soon. republican senator from south carolina lindsey graham sits on the senate judiciary committee, joins us now to weigh in. good to see you. you are busy. it s good to help a nice man like judge kavanaugh get on the supreme court. shannon: the democrats don t think he so nice. i want to read a little bit of back-and-forth. this started on twitter, as so many fights in washington do. this is from the senate judiciary committee yesterday, nowhere in any of these six fbi reports, referring to the previous background checks, which the committee has reviewed on a bipartisan basis was there ever a whiff of any issue at all. related in any way to inappropriate behavior or alcohol abuse. senator dick durbin said the tweet is not accurate. committee republicans must correct it. he sent a letter. we only don t notice that two democrats didn t sign it. nothing in the
mueller, i m not going to sit there and let him look like an idiot. you publish a transcript because everything lake s in washington and the guys overseas are going to say, i told you he was an idiot. i told you he was a dumbbell. and it statement, dowd says there never wasn t practice session. sources tell fox news what he actually told mueller was that with a number of questions he wanted to ask, the president could not recall all these details because he is saturated with information daily. the transcript thing he could not recall makes him look like an idiot to others not involved. when the president called woodward to complain he hadn t been interviewed for the book, woodward said he tried and failed to get a sitdown and insisted there is nothing in the book that doesn t come from a first-hand source. it s a tough look at the world and your administration and you. right, while i assume it is going to be a negative book. woodward s book adds details to already rumored event
or philadelphia is worth the long-term gain of this being a political winner for him. the first part of your statement you said or your answer, you said it s an attempt to deliberately embarrass the president. because you disagree with someone lly. why is it embarrassing the president? why is it again about the president and not about them disagreeing him or their issues not being paid attention to? oh, look, i think they re perfectly well within their rights to not want to show up and make a statement against the president they disagree with not showing up. but, on the same token the president is well within his rights to not hold an event which he feels people are deliberately trying to embarrass him, which is clearly how he feels. fewer than ten players were not going to show up. this was a mass protest. and the president didn t want to be embarrassed in his backyard. they were saying a delegation
justice. one of the players played for free this entire year, donated their entire salary to. it s interesting about standing for the national anthem. i could be wrong on this but i don t recall any of the eagle players taking a knee this year. so, if the president s trying to maout thatdon t think the eagles are necessarily the best example. other than the fact that they ve made strong stands as individuals for justice causes. you re absolutely right about that. i want to talk with that about the panel. jake tapper spoke with a player and nfl source who noticed not one of the players on the super bowl winning eagles took a knee all regular season. so, his statement doesn t add up. thank you, i appreciate it congressman boyle. okay. thank you, don. m pennsylvania, also charley scott jennings and bakari sellers. so, good evening. you heard the congressman there. i ll start with a congressman
here it is. if i told you i was invited to a party by an individual that i believe is sexist, this individual has said offensive things against many minority groups and i don t feel comfortable with it. my indivual also called my peers and friends s.o.b.s. you would understand why i don t want to go to that party. why is it any different when this person has a title president of the united states. so the eagles response was certainly showed unity, uniting. he had a very good point there, don t you think, congressman? i do. i think torrey smith made a very fair point that he objects to many of the president s comments or behavior. and he felt that he didn t want to attend. i respect that. he s very honest about it. he was very civil about it and i have a lot of respect for the man. i think it was a fair statement.
