it will make it very difficult for the troops. i m sure if that had happened and it s hard for general petraeus to do it, he s across time zones and some people might think it s inappropriate, it s better to handle it quietly like that than to blow it like this. it s a tiny church with i think 50 members and it s getting all this publicity. what are we doing? does it speak, though, about general petraeus and about the pressure he s under or how he s feeling? what does it tell you, the fact that he went ahead and made this kind of statement? it tells me it was on his mind and he was concerned about it, and he probably just it comes out when you re dealing with the press. he may have cited it as an example. we haven t seen the whole interview, and the content of it, but, you know, i m sure it was just one of those things that was on his mind when he said it. so, it s no criticism of general petraeus. far from it. but there are ways to handle this better than making it a worldwide
