oops. tropical storm grace is roughly 1,000 kilometers away from haiti. we expect tropical storm grace to fast approach, it s moving 22 miles an hour to the west-northwest. that puts it near or over haiti by monday evening. for that reason, we have a tropical storm watch in effect for the entire coastline of haiti. we also have tropical storm warnings to the east in puerto rico and the virgin islands. eventually that tropical storm watch over haiti will be converted into a tropical storm warning. we expect that rain to really start to build in intensity once we get to monday. once we get to late monday and during the wee hours of tuesday, we re talking about some fairly strong squalls pushing through. these squalls will potentially produce tropical storm-force winds. that would be winds in excess of 39 miles per hour and some really heavy rainfall and some thunderstorms as well. so some bolts of lightning out

there. here s the track. so it s going to go over puerto rico today, then it starts to encroach on dominican republic late tonight, on into early monday. then it s right on top of haiti come late monday, late monday and tuesday. conditions are going to be very poor. we re talking about a lot of rainfall across hispaniola. some areas receiving 7 inches of rain with isolated amounts up to 10. that will cause some flooding across hispaniola and mudslides too. in southern haiti near the epicenter, i don t expect to see 7 to 10 inches of rain, but we could see 3 to 4 inches of rain. again, tropical storm-force winds, which would be wind gusts in excess of 39 miles per hour. we are now in the peak of hurricane season. the absolute peak is september 10th. that s typically when we see the most activity in the atlantic basin climatologically. this time of year the breeding
another of our top stories, haiti and that deadly earthquake that has rocked the doubled nation. the death toll stands at 304 but that number is sure to rise. thousands of others are injured. haiti s prime minister says the country is in urgent need of medical supplies and personnel. the 7.2 quake struck saturday morning 78 miles west of the capital port-au-prince. joining me issal sandra andrea, head of the haiti mission for doctors without borders, live from port-au-prince. you are coordinating, you are speaking to your teams in the field. what do you know? yes. so far we know that there are big damages to the building, especially in the main cities. the other towns surrounding us are also affected. the houses and, more concerning,
