yesterday about the attorney general jeff sessions. here is how it reads. two very popular congressmen were brought to a charge just before the mid-terms. two easy wins now in doubt because there isn t enough time. good job, jeff. should the president be picking fights with his a.g. ? i both the president and attorney general sessions. i wish they would work it out between themselves and not do it on social media. the attorney general is doing the job he thinks he is required to do under his oath and i think the president should keep him in place as long as the two of them can get along. any nominee serves at the pleasure of the president but jeff sessions is trying to turn the department of justice and the f.b.i. around in a way that brings it credit and i think he should be given the time and space to do that. to get back to the point of the hour anyway, will brett
bombastic call? to say that the market will crash if i m impeached, i would call it fairly bombastic. no one knows what the market is going to do. neil: you did, because that is why i m happy. i absolutely do not. my crystal ball is not clear than anyone else. neil: the longest bull market because the last one technically started a few years earlier than we give it credit. can you explain that? sure, again, people will say that this is an argument around semantics. regardless of how long the correct phases have lasted, the 1990 pullback was 19.9%. people will say come around to 20. there was a correction then in 1998 there was 19.4%. does that qualify? no, that does not qualify because it does not perfectly round. in 2011, you had a decline in the market of 19.4%. by the way, that lasted almost twice as long as the one in
greater legal jeopardy after michael cohen named him as a co-conspirator in the election matter. so what brett kavanaugh has to say about how you deal with presidents who are under a cloud of suspicion i think is more important than senator graham gave it credit for being. well, i think that s true. certainly he is the president is under a cloud. everything that happened today were real bombshells. and it is certainly undermining the presidency at this point. we need to see how this goes. you can t ever determine where this will end up. but i do think it raises the stakes a good bit on that portion of the kavanaugh record. people need to examine all aspects of it. people have been focused on it to begin with, but now i think the stakes are raised. senator doug jones, thank you for joining us, sir. my pleasure, thank you. let s have a quick look at the east room of the white house where in just a few minutes john a. chapman will receive the
times. what do you think of the mess we re? ? it s doing terrific damage to the united states. i think it s underscoring donald trump is a corrupt person. he s a person with a disordered personality. and i think he s doing tremendous damage to the republican party. we re in a very, very bad place right now and it s going to take a lot of work to get out of it. all right. what do you make of this effort by the president about 24 hours ago? some people are actually giving it credit as a correction, clarification, a walking back. there are a whole lot of other people who think it was absolute nonsense. i m in the latter category. it was a joke. look, what trump said with putin when he was on the stage in helsinki revealed what his views are, what his heart is. and this was a clumsy effort the other day to back away from what he said. but even that was mishandled. what mattered and really i think what cut through in a way that not many other things trump has said has cut through, is
americans? juan: oh, i see, anyone who disagree with trump is not un-american. fake fake news, fake news. this morning, the papers have republicans rebelling against trump because he is raising tariffs. people are saying don t do it. don t forget, the farmers and others. dana: they are not happy. juan: the idea to break apart and after, break apart trade deals. greg: this is what makes republicans honest. i don t want a protectionist leader. i have a theory he is playing tough with these deals but i don t think he is protectionist. juan: i am saying there is a lot more to this story about the economy and the idea that he can run on the economy, obviously if most americans think the economy is booming, doing great, but they don t credit donald trump. that s not good news for republicans. kimberly: let s see how long they are able to try to create an alternate reality.
