wanted everything he wanted. he wasn t going to negotiate just wanted to get a full debt ceiling increase that he wanted and wanted to get a continuation of funding with out addressing under lying problems. and frankly the biggest problem this sets up yet another crisis showdown in three months you ve got this january 15th deadline, you ve got february 7th now. you ve got another set of crisis. we haven t addressed one problem that got us here. do you think that the tactics used were right tactics? no. i don t there are different proposals on the table. i voted for four different proposals to fund government. we offered to the president to increase the debt ceiling just for an agreement to start negotiating on the bigger spending issues he refused to negotiate. so, you know you ve got a situation where the president got everything he wanted but we didn t solve a problem. soit was a bad situation for everybody.
