A DUNBAR stalwart has been making history with a sell-out book about the town. Stephen Bunyan MBE, former chairman of Dunbar Community Council and Deputy Lieutenant for East Lothian, spent last year in lockdown writing snippets of local history for the community council website. Last December, the group published the pieces in a book called History In Lockdown: Occasional Histories of Dunbar. The book (pictured below), priced £5, is now close to selling out. Mr Bunyan, 87, said: “I was encouraged to start [writing] at about the beginning of lockdown because we had missed the anniversary of Dunbar Charter and it was felt that, if I wrote about it, it would be of interest to the newcomers to Dunbar.
