interesting is early voting, particularly in arizona, has been tilted the republicans way in a very big way even more so than 2016. a lot of that enthusiasm is coming from the trump base. that s not a perfect overlap from the republican base. you can see once again the issues we talk about with immigration are having a huge impact in republicans favor. dana: do you worry about early voting look like it s favoring republicans? i believe it or not agree with both points by josh. dana: wow. i know. shocking, right? fantastic. what i have seen the last couple years is republicans are getting better and better at early voting but it cannibalizes their election day turnout. they haven t been able to grow that. historically republicans vote on election day, period. now they re spreading it out over early elections and democrats have mastered early election and turning out more people on election day. dana: so i have to ask you one last question. i m going to indiana tomorrow.

congress, cia officers running for congress and fear mongering and racist ads, unfortunately. dana: it did feel last week like the republicans had the momentum behind them. i don t believe everything i read, but that the democrats are feeling a little better about their position. this happened while heidi heitkamp has $12.4 million. she sent $7 million of that to other democrats. maybe she thinks she doesn t need that money. hard to spend $12.4 million in north dakota. republicans, are they going to get swamped by democratic fund-raising? to your first point, the name of the game is volatility. we ve made some small investments in lean republican seats that we learned through the special elections will help prevent any surprises. this happens on both sides. democrats recently went back into barbara comstock s race, new hampshire and added more money into pete hoskins race.
that was darkened in such a horrible way this past weekend. dana: well said. rabbi jeremy weisblatt, thank you for joining us today. thank you for having me, dana. dana: midterms now just one week away. one of the republicans and democrat battlegrounds for the home stretch. we ll ask two people who know. and the fight in the rocky mountain street. alicia, voters have a big decision to make next week. reporter: that s right, dana. one that could impact energy development in other states. the big question, should fracking wells be placed farther from homes and schools than currently required? what would the impact look like? we ll have the story when we come back. welcome to the place where people go to learn about
