BERNARDS TWP. - The Local History Collection of the Bernards Township Library has been enhanced thanks to a donation by Allan H. Connolly, nephew of late historian Nettie Allen.

Four nonprofit organizations in Somerset County were awarded a total of $35,308 in grants to support local history projects.
The grants were awarded by the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners as part of the County History Partnership Program or CHPP.
The following organizations received CHPP grants:
The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum – $20,808. General operating funds will aid in the maintenance, enrichment and expansion of programs and outreach, including planning for a new Education and Exhibit Center on the top of Sourland Mountain in Hillsborough, virtual programming for signature events and enhancing the Sourland African American History Trail with an expanded map and signage. The grant will also support the creation of a new program, the Witness Stones Project, which will be brought to area schools.
