PAOLI History will come alive Saturday at the historic Thomas Elwood Lindley House, 1563 Will Creek Road. The special event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a Civil War muster on the lawn, guided tours of the 1850s era farm house, musical entertainment, tasty treats and more. The home was built about 1852 for Thomas Elwood Lindley, on land that was granted to his grandfather, Jonathan Lindley, when he left North Carolina to come to Orange County in 1812.
The home remained in the Lindley family until it was donated to the Orange County Historical Society by H. Carl Thompson and Dorothy Farlow Thompson in 1974. The home was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
