The 82nd Annual AV Fair and Alfalfa Festival located in Lancaster has announced it’s opening in October, after it’s original scheduled dates were pushed back.
The AV Fair and Alfalfa Festival, themed “Barntober Fest,” is set to be open for eight days starting Friday, Oct. 1 through the Sunday, Oct. 10. The Fairgrounds are expected to be closed Monday, Oct. 4 and Tuesday, Oct. 5.
“We are all thrilled to announce that our beloved AV Fair & Alfalfa Festival is back on. Earlier in the year, the large-scale restrictions would not have allowed us to move forward to host a traditional Fair, but our staff, volunteers, vendors, exhibitors and leadership teams remained vigilant – working together to ensure we are ready to host our iconic Fair,” said President of the AV Fair and Alfalfa Festival Board of Directors Drew Mercy said.

The 2021 Northwest Washington Fair Is a Go!
“The Northwest Washington Fair is on,” says CEO Chris Pickering. Monday’s announcement follows an April 16 guidance update from Governor Inslee’s office that allows up to 9,000 guests at events around the state.
“We’ve been planning for almost two years to make this the best Fair yet,” Pickering says. New health and safety measures include the Fair’s pursuit of GBAC STAR accreditation for facility cleanliness, along with plans to move all food and beverage purchases cashless. “The health and safety of our guests is top priority. We’re doing everything possible to deliver safe, clean fun.”
