square at the smith county courthouse, where every day, passions run high. in a courthouse, whether it s new york city or tyler, texas, that courthouse is full of emotion. especially in the courts of divorce and child custody. that day, february 24th, 2005, 43-year-old david arroyo is waiting outside for his ex-wife to arrive for a child support hearing. he had somehow blamed all the problems in life on his wife and his son. armed with a powerful semiautomatic rifle, he opens fire. we have shots fired on the square. we have someone down. appears to be a hispanic male. looks like he s in front of the old levine store. the shooting is all caught on
fired. the magazines that have been retrieved, there is one empty magazine, 30 round magazine and there were two others lying on the ground. these were empty? no, they were not empty. the national guard, by the way, also says it does not know if there is a connection with the guardmen and the gunman, but they are saying the reason the guard members were there is because the ihop was only a few miles away from the guard headquarters. harris? i know the sheriff wrapped up that news conference we were looking at and we learned quite a bit more about the gunman. yeah. his name is edward ascension. the hispanic male, he has no criminal record at all. we know that he lives in carson city, or lived in carson city and has a valid u.s. passport. the sheriff s office and the f.b.i. are trying to figure out if he has any type of military connection at all or if he knows any of the employees inside this international house of pancakes. they re also trying to piece
it happened right after. right. and how many women don t report it? they could be intimidated but how many women don t report it. they know the guy is rich and he is powerful. and what happens to the victims in this case in the amount of press and scrutiny. having the f.b.i. investigating her family. our next topic, she was meteorologist and she was working at the top tv market in the country filling in for a national morning show and now she is facing jail time for lying about an assault that never happened. rightfully so. it may have happened in central park with a hispanic male but the courts. anybody that reports a false crime, especially a sexual assault and it s going to cause more racial division with a
hispanic male. she puts everything back for women who really are assaulted that really have been hurt. the crying rape, you put everybody back to the dark ages at some point. and this woman has serious mental health issues to do this type of thing. it really is such a bad impact in terms like sexual assault victims. it stigmatizes them. she made a false report. racial a accusations, it s bad news and she is in trouble. we have to go, i would like to talk to you guys all day. thank you so much for joining us. that was fun. we like to talk la. jon: fox news alert compton, california is a town that s had its crime problems. now there is another one, a school is on lockdown. ascott elementary school becaue of a shooting nearby. live pictures coming to us from kttv. we are told a hispanic male was shot twice, once in the back, once in the leg. it s believed that he was tagging at the time, using spray paint to sort of mark territory, that s a common activity among gang members, and the victim is known to police as a member of what s called the 38th street gang. nonlife-threatening injuries, already hospitalized police say, but the ascott elementary school is in lockdown because of this shooting not far away. the investigation continues. we ll keep you updated.
