McDONOUGH — Henry County has been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter Board program.

In addition, the following grants to nonprofit organizations were approved:
⦠Stay Fit Through the Arts â up to $41,000 to assist youth in underserved communities negatively affected by COVID-19
⦠Helping in His Name Ministries â $100,400 to provide food assistance to all Henry County citizens
⦠Shaquille Clark Foundation â $25,000 to provide housing, utility and child care assistance to citizens of Henry County
⦠Community Development for Real People â $25,000 to provide food, personal hygiene items and persona protective equipment to Henry County citizens
⦠Wings of Prayer Senior Services â $10,000 to provide food, shelter and utility assistance to low-income, homeless senior citizens.
