Oman takes part in a talk on third human rights report By: Times News Service Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, took part in discussions on the third human rights report of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the premises of the Human Rights Council (HRC) here on Friday. The Sultanate was represented by Dr. Abdullah Mohammed al-Sa’eedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs. Al-Sa’eedi delivered Oman’s speech before the HRC, citing the progress made by the Sultanate since the Second UPR in 2015 and outlining major achievements made in all aspects of human rights enjoyed by citizens and residents on Oman’s land.

Oman targets 3 5pc GDP growth in 10th 5-year plan

Image courtesy: ONA MUSCAT, January 7, 2021 Oman’s Ministry of Economy will target a real GDP growth rate of 3.5 percent on average and 5.5 percent in nominal GDP growth rate, as well as increasing the investment rate to 27 percent of GDP on average, a senior government official said. One of the main objectives of the plan is to attract more foreign direct investment in the oil and non-oil sectors, to reach 10.9 percent of the GDP by the end of the plan, Dr Nasser Rashid Al-Ma awali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, was quoted as saying in an Oman News Agency (ONA) report.
