A Mumbai court sent suspended assistant police inspector, Riyaz Kazi, an associate of suspended cop Sachin Vaze, to judicial custody till April 23.
The court sent to jail custody since the National Investigation Agency (NIA) did not seek to extend his custody.
Kazi was arrested by the NIA on April 11 after Sachin Vaze was sent to judicial custody.
Both the accused were arrested by the NIA after a vehicle with 2.5 kg gelatin sticks was found near businessman Mukesh Ambani’s residence, Antilia, on February 25.
The agency is also investigating businessman Hiran Mansukh’s death and suspects that both the cases are connected. NIA also invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against Vaze. Both Vaze and Kazi were working with the crime intelligence unit of Mumbai Police before they were arrested by the NIA.
