LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has been moved to ensure supplies of wheat flour and sugar at model bazaars.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Hina Pervaiz Butt submitted a resolution to the assembly secretariat here on Monday criticising the Punjab government for what, she says, staging a drama for the provision of cheap sugar at model bazaars.
She says the consumers are allowed to purchase only one packet of one kg sugar at Rs65 per kg from the bazaars, while the sweetener as well as wheat flour are missing from the facilities from day one.
She claims that a large number of consumers returned home empty handed for non-availability of the two commodities at the bazaars.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hina Pervaiz Butt has claimed that she graduated from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.98.

Hina was asked on the television show whether she became a member of Punjab Assembly on a reserved seat the basis of her wealth and contacts. She said it was not right to “say such a thing about women who become lawmakers on reserved seats”.

Ever heard of a lawmaker post pictures of eggs, on social media, to convey a point? PML-N s Hina Pervaiz Butt did just that on social media, with the words Corrupt Anda and Sadiq o Ameen Anda written on them.
As prices of eggs increase in Lahore, the PML-N MPA decided to take a shot at the incumbent government but in a rather unconventional way. Taking to Twitter, Hina Pervaiz Butt posted pictures of two eggs.
On one egg was written, with a black marker, Sadiq o Ameen Anda, Rs 20 and on the other, Corrupt Anda Rs 8 .
“By December 31 deadline resignations from all PML-N lawmakers will be submitted to the party leadership,” PML-N information secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb said. AP/File
LAHORE: A day after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) announced that all the national and provincial lawmakers belonging to its constituent parties will hand over their resignations to the heads of their parties by Dec 31, 14 lawmakers of PML-N submitted their resignations to its leadership.
Two rebel MPAs of the PML-N Jalil Sharqpuri and Ghaisuddin however, declared that they would not resign from the membership because they did not adhere to the “anti-military views of its Nawaz Sharif”.
