lack of reporting on christians being persecuted in the middle east and with tv personalities ridiculing vice president pence for expressing how his faith informs him and his office. pete: talking about persecutions. we have numbers of what christian faiths worldwide today. over 200 million christians face persecution on a regular basis especially in the middle east. one in 12 christians worldwide facing persecution. last one islamic imoppression fuels oppression in 8 of the top 10 countries. have you ever attended a workshop at gw about radical islamic oppression and what that does to people? i have not. we have discussed the effects of extremism in many of my classes. pete: islamic extremism or extremism as this morphos idea. extremism on several fronts. i think that as we look abroad and see what christians across the world face, i think we can say that here in the united
ainsley: he lost doin loves doig that. pete: george washington university seminar this week take a closer look at get, this christian privilege and how christians apparently get unmerited perks and have built in advantages over non-christians in the united states. ainsley: caroline is a campus reform.org correspondent and freshman at gw, george washington university. she joins us now to weigh in on this. caroline, what s happening on your campus? well, the multicultural student services center is hosting this seminar on christian privilege. and i think i was very surprised to see this happening. christian groups on our campus generally enjoy a lot of acceptance by the university administration, although i m sure there are some student groups who would disagree. pete: sure. you know, the namesake of your university, george washington himself a white
but i have run for my last political office. brian: have you? yeah. ainsley: how did you become a republican? basically two major factors. my father, my family are strong in the military. one of my brothers went to the air force academy. another brother is command sergeant in the army. my dad 22 years in the air force. my second part was my mentor who found me as almost a high school dropout. i failed world geography and civics, spanish and english. you fail spanish and english you are not bilingual. chick-fil-a operator taught me all things are possible no matter where you come from. he was conservative, christian republican. he never talked politics. he talked principles. that s why i know the conservative principles that undergird the success of this nation. pete: those are american principles. always leads to american exceptionalism. for anyone who will take the time to study the principles and apply them. our country is amazing. our best days are absolutely ahead of her. bri
absolutely. ainsley: april 4th the next day at 6:00 p.m. he was on the balcony of the lorain hotel. sniper bullet hit him in the neck and he died one hour later at the age of 39. i didn t realize he was that young. he was very young. i would like to mention my dad, reverend a.d. king was there, too. my dad had just gone down to the lower floor to his room when that happened the next year daddy was killed. he was 39 when he was killed. kind of like the kennedy brothers. dr. martin luther king jr. during his whole lifetime lived a life of love and service. and he did take the knee during his last time. i m talking to the millennials now. he took the knee in prayer to god. so we have got to return to god. we have to have god among us. and that is something as a christian preacher, martin luther king jr. would be saying today. i believe he would pray for the president, with the president. pray for and with america. that s the message love.
